- אַרְזַפְתָּאII (אַפְרַזְתָּא) f. (v. זַיִף, a אַרְרַּפְנֵי = הַרְדַּ׳; cmp. Löw, Pfl. p. 320) hypericum (barbatum), St. Johns wort, a plant said to be fatal to cattle. B. Kam.47b באר׳ Ar. a. Ms. H. (Var. הרזיפא, v. Koh. Ar.; ed. אפר׳) under ‘poison is meant arzafta which may also be called peré (fruit, produces of the earth). B. Bath.20a אר׳ Ar. (Ms. אר׳, changed into אפ׳ as ed.).
